Role Overview
At GBM Asset Management, data is the foundation of every investment decision. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, structuring, and analyzing large, complex datasets to generate actionable insights for portfolio managers across multiple strategies. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of technology, research, and investing.
Responsibilities
- Partner with portfolio managers and researchers to design and deliver data-driven insights.
- Source, clean, and validate alternative and traditional datasets across equities, macro, and credit.
- Build scalable data pipelines and dashboards for research and real-time monitoring.
- Develop metrics, visualizations, and reporting frameworks to support investment theses.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize data storage, APIs, and query performance.
- Ensure best practices in data governance, documentation, and compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in financial data analytics, preferably in hedge funds or investment banks.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL; familiarity with cloud data environments.
- Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Proven ability to translate complex data into investment insights.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
